Inmates set Bengal jail property on fire as court hearings stalled over COVID-19
Inmates clashed with guards at Dum Dum Correctional Home in Kolkata on Saturday over West Bengal government's decision to postpone court hearings till March 31 over coronavirus spread. Inmates pelted stones and set jail property on fire as they demanded that they be released on parole, said prison officials. State government is also not allowing inmates to meet family members.
