Insect feared to be extinct in Britain for 28 years rediscovered

After being feared extinct in Britain for 28 years, a species of insect known as the scarce yellow sally has been rediscovered in a small area of the River Dee in North Wales. With the efforts of aquarists at Chester Zoo, the critically endangered insect has been successfully bred, with plans to reintroduce it to its natural habitat.
