Inspector martyred in Batla House encounter gets 7th gallantry medal

Delhi Police Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma, who was martyred in the 2008 Batla House encounter, has been awarded a gallantry medal posthumously for the seventh time. Inspector Sharma, who had joined the Delhi Police as a sub-inspector in 1989, was hit by three bullets when he went to capture the terrorists. He was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra in 2009.
