Intel, Brown University to use AI to treat spinal injuries

Intel and Brown University researchers have started working on an "Intelligent Spine Interface" which, using AI, would restore movement and bladder control for patients paralysed by severe spinal cord injuries. They will decode recorded motor and sensory signals from the spinal cord and bypass the injury site to relay motor commands. This would allow severed nerves to communicate in real-time.
