Intel fires over 2,000 employees in US as part of 15,000 layoffs

Intel has started implementing mass layoffs, announced in August, impacting more than 2,000 jobs across several US states. Of the 2,000 jobs being slashed, 1,300 are in Oregon, 385 in Arizona, 319 in California and 251 in Texas. CEO Pat Gelsinger had announced that the US chipmaker will layoff 15,000 employees as part of its cost-cutting measures.
