International Space Station crew sees 16 sunrises every day

The International Space Station (ISS) crew sees 16 sunrises and sunsets every day, because of the Station's high speed. The ISS orbits at about 400 kilometres above the Earth at a speed of approximately 28,000 km/hr. It takes about 90 minutes to circle the Earth once, and the astronauts see a sunrise or sunset every 45 minutes.
