Internet shut in 5 Manipur districts after protests turn violent over children’s killing

The Manipur government has temporarily suspended internet services for three days across five districts, which include Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Kakching and Bishnupur, after protests turned violent, leading to two deaths in CRPF firing. The unrest comes after the killing of a four-year-old boy and his newborn sister after a rocket-like projectile struck their home in Bishnupur district.
