Inventor of waterproof garments was born 250 years ago
Charles Macintosh, the Scottish inventor of Mackintosh waterproof raincoat was born on December 29, 250 years ago. Macintosh patented the process of making waterproof garments in 1823, created by sandwiching two pieces of fabric with dissolved rubber solution in the middle. Google published a doodle to mark Macintosh's birthday with him standing in the rain and testing his invention.
