Investors lose ₹7 lakh cr in a day as Sensex crashes 770 points

The Sensex closed about 770 points lower, below the 81,600-mark, on Friday. The domestic indices decline erased nearly ₹7 lakh crore in BSE market capitalisation. Investor wealth fell to ₹451.43 lakh crore down from ₹458.43 lakh crore recorded in the previous session. Notably, Sensex has crashed over 2,000 points in five days, while Nifty has dipped 640 points.
