Indian Oil (IOC) and Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) together bought 2 million barrels of Merey crude from Venezuela for delivery in second half of April, Reuters reported. The purchase highlights Indian refiners' efforts to diversify their imports to partly replace Russian oil in a bid to help the India-US trade deal. The purchase of Venezuelan oil is the first by HPCL.
