iPhone, iPad become 1st consumer devices to handle classified NATO data

Apple said iPhone and iPad running iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 have become the first consumer devices approved for use with classified information in NATO-restricted environments. The clearance comes following security testing and evaluation by the German government. The move enables devices to be used with classified information up to the NATO restricted level without requiring special software.
