IPL changed everything: Graeme Smith on franchise cricket's future

Former South Africa opener Graeme Smith credited the role of Indian Premier League (IPL) in evolution of franchise cricket, saying, "The IPL changed everything...It showed how big franchise cricket could become commercially, in terms of fan engagement, and...quality of cricket." Smith, who played IPL from 2008-11 for RR and PWI, added, "The IPL sits at the top of the pyramid."
