IPS officer, who joined BJP 2 days after taking early retirement, loses Gujarat local polls

Ex-IPS officer Manoj Ninama, who joined the BJP two days after taking voluntary retirement, lost the Odh panchayat elections on Tuesday. Ninama contested the election on a BJP ticket and was defeated by Congress leader Suresh Ninama by a margin of 2,744 votes. The 59-year-old took voluntary retirement on April 7, just weeks before superannuation on May 31.
