IPS officer Manoj made new Kolkata Commissioner after Goyal's removal

West Bengal government appointed IPS officer Manoj Kumar Verma as the new Kolkata Police Commissioner on Tuesday, a day after Vineet Goyal was removed from the post. Protesting doctors had demanded Goyal's removal for allegedly tampering with evidence of crime after the rape-murder of Kolkata doctor. Goyal has been transferred as Additional Director General (ADG) of Special Task Force.
