Iran accuses Australia of taking women's football players hostage after asylum bids

Iran's Football Federation chief Mehdi Taj accused Australia of taking Iran women's football players "hostage". His comments came after five players from Iran's women's football team claimed asylum in Australia during the AFC Asian Cup following reports that players were labelled "wartime traitors" by Iranian state TV. Meanwhile, two more Iranian players have reportedly sought asylum.
