Iran bans sports teams from playing in 'hostile' countries

Iran has banned its national and domestic sports teams from travelling to countries it considers "hostile" citing safety concerns amid geopolitical crisis, Iranian state TV reported. The directive came ahead of Iranian club Tractor FC's AFC Champions League game against Shabab Al-Ahli of Dubai in Saudi Arabia in April. The ban didn't mention FIFA World Cup 2026.
