Iran cancels Switzerland talks over fears of backlash for appearing with US officials: Report

Iran reportedly withdrew from a public ceremony in Switzerland to mark US-Iran peace agreement as resistance grew in Iran over officials shaking hands with their American counterparts. The event was scheduled days before funeral of Iran’s slain Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei. A public display of reconciliation with US was reportedly seen as potentially damaging for the Iranian leadership.
