Iran confirms Navy chief, responsible for blocking Hormuz, killed

Iran on Monday confirmed that Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' (IRGC) Navy Commander Alireza Tangsiri was killed in a Israeli strike in southern Iran. Iran praised his efforts, particularly in helping maintain a chokehold on the Strait of Hormuz. Israel's Defence Minister Israel Katz on March 26 said that the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) had eliminated the Navy commander.
