Iran court sentences rapper Salehi to death for backing Amini protests

An Iranian revolutionary court has sentenced rapper Toomaj Salehi, who backed protests that erupted following the death of 22-year-old woman Mahsa Amini, to death, his lawyer has confirmed. He had expressed support online and in his songs after Amini died after being allegedly tortured in police custody for wearing 'improper hijab'. Salehi has 20 days to appeal the ruling.
