Iran elected vice-president of UN nuclear treaty meet: Report

Iran, which is engaged in war with US over its nuclear programme, has been elected as one of the vice-presidents of a Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) conference, Reuters reported. The decision was made at the 11th Review Conference of the NPT, which began this week at the United Nations in New York. Delegates selected 34 vice-presidents for the month-long meeting.
