Iran hangs man accused of killing security volunteer during 2022 anti-govt protests

Iran hanged a man, Mehrab Abdollahzadeh, convicted of involvement in the killing of a security forces volunteer during anti-government protests in 2022. The judiciary’s Mizan Online website said he admitted to “hitting the officer several times in the face” and was sentenced to death for “corruption on earth.” Recently, Iran carried out multiple executions of people liked to the protests.
