Iran hangs student accused of being US spy after months of torture

Iran on Monday hanged a post-graduate engineering student after he was convicted of helping US and Israeli intelligence services. The 29-year-old man, Erfan ​Shakourzadeh, was reportedly subjected to months of torture and was accused of being involved in ​satellite activities and sharing ‌classified ⁠scientific information. A Norway-based rights group said he was forced to give false confessions.
