Iran plans new shipping corridor, exclusion zone near Strait of Hormuz

Iran is planning to establish a controlled shipping corridor through the Strait of Hormuz and declare an exclusion zone in adjacent waters, amid rising regional tensions. Tehran is negotiating routes with neighbouring Oman but said it will control vessel entry and exit. Iran also warned that unauthorised ships could face sanctions and denial of passage through the strategic waterway.
