Iran protests economic, driven by inflation and distress: Ex-envoy

Former Indian Ambassador Gaddam Dharmendra said ongoing protests in Iran are largely economic, fuelled by high inflation and unemployment. He noted the unusual participation of the influential trading class and students, while adding that protest intensity has fluctuated. Dharmendra said India-Iran ties remain stable despite the unrest.
