Iran publicly hangs man for rape, murder of 7-year-old girl

Iran on Wednesday publicly hanged a 42-year-old man, Esmail Jafarzadeh, convicted of the rape and murder of a seven-year-old girl. The execution was held in public "to restore citizens" sense of security and relieve their troubled minds, the state prosecutor said. Jafarzadeh confessed to the crimes after the girl's body was found by police in the garage of his house.
