Iran releases 10 Indian sailors detained after intercepting tanker last July

Iran has released 10 Indian sailors who were detained after a Palau-flagged oil tanker was intercepted in July 2025. The sailors on the MV Harbour Phoenix were "detained, arrested and imprisoned in Iran following the vessel's interception near Jask Port in July 2025", said the Directorate General of Shipping. Authorities are currently coordinating arrangements for their return to India.
