Iran's inflation jumps to 88.6% in 1 year

Iran's year-on-year inflation surged to 88.6% in June, official data showed, as the Middle East war and years of international sanctions drove prices sharply higher. During the Persian month of Khordad (May 22-June 21), food prices more than doubled from a year earlier. Bread and grains rose 138.8%, dairy products 151.9%, and red meat and poultry jumped 178.2%.
