Iran sets up Hormuz transit authority, ships now need to seek clearance & pay

Iran has launched a new regulatory body, Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA), to oversee maritime movement through the Strait of Hormuz. PGSA, in a statement, said navigation through the strait would require "full coordination" with Iranian military and state authorities and passage without permission will be "considered illegal". Ships have reportedly started paying tolls for their transit.
