Iran threatens 'difficulties' at Hormuz for countries enforcing US sanctions

An Iranian military official has said that countries that are enforcing US sanctions against Iran will "certainly face difficulties in passing through the Strait of Hormuz", local media reported. The US has imposed sanctions to disrupt Iran's "illicit oil trade", which it says is used to "fund terrorism and regional destabilisation". The Strait of Hormuz remains effectively blocked by Iran.
