Iran's former President joins Twitter after banning it

Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday joined the social media platform Twitter, which is blocked for ordinary Iranian citizens. Ahmadinejad's administration banned access to Twitter after people used the site to organise mass protests and demonstrations against his re-election in 2009. In his first tweet, Ahmadinejad called on people to follow him at @Ahmadinejad1956.
