Iraq, Syria to sign pipeline deal for sending oil to global markets

Iraq and Syria will sign an agreement for the construction of pipelines connecting oil production sites to global export markets through Mediterranean sea, Bloomberg reported. Iraq's state-owned Basra Oil Company will sign a memorandum of understanding with Syria's oil ministry for the project, Iraq's cabinet said. Iraq will also assess and develop its Akkas gas field, located near Syria's border.
