Iraq to shut production on foreign-operated oilfields amid Hormuz disruption

Iraq declared force majeure, a clause wherein it can suspend its contractual obligations, on all foreign-operated oilfields amid disrupted navigation in Strait of Hormuz amid US-Iran war, reported Reuters. A production shutdown at affected concession areas, with no compensation from the measure under contract terms, has been ordered as storage capacity reached its limits, said Iraqi oil ministry.
