IRCTC deducts ₹1 from train ticket refund, ordered to pay 3,09,900% to passenger

A man in Kerala filed a complaint against IRCTC after receiving ₹1 less in refund for a cancelled ₹553 AC three-tier ticket in 2024. He demanded ₹2 lakh in compensation, ₹5,000 in litigation costs and refund of ₹1. A consumer forum ordered a refund of ₹1 with 9% interest and asked IRCTC to pay ₹3,100 in compensation and litigation costs.
