IRCTC told to deposit ₹50 crore for not passing GST benefits to Rail Neer buyers

The GST Appellate Tribunal has ordered IRCTC to deposit ₹50.4 crore into consumer welfare funds for failing to pass on GST benefits to Rail Neer consumers. The case followed a complaint alleging IRCTC continued charging ₹15/bottle despite a tax reduction after GST's introduction. IRCTC argued that the Railway Ministry fixes the maximum retail price, leaving it unable to cut prices.
