IRDAI allows health, motor insurers to issue electronic policies

Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has allowed general and health insurance policies to be issued in an electronic format till March 31, 2021. E-general insurance policies can be issued for fire, motor, package policies and other miscellaneous policies where sum insured doesn't exceed ₹5 crore. Proposers can give consent to a policy proposal through one-time password.
