IRDAI proposes mandatory disclosure of insurance commissions: Report

IRDAI is planning a major revamp of insurance distribution, including mandatory disclosure of commission structures, effort-based payouts and persistency-linked incentives, Moneycontrol reported. The reforms are targeted for January 2027. IRDAI also plans differentiated remuneration across distribution channels to improve transparency. The consultation paper will be released by the end of July.
