Ireland to grant adopted people automatic access to birth records

Ireland will give adopted people automatic access to their birth records for first time under new proposed law. People aged over 16 will be able to access their birth certificates, medical histories and details about their biological parents, regardless of parents' wishes. "Historic wrong has been done to adopted people...We're restoring...information...[many]...take for granted," a minister said.
