Irrawaddy dolphins are disappearing faster than expected, experts warn they're nearing extinction. Found in rivers and coastal waters across South and Southeast Asia, populations are shrinking yearly, with some river groups having only few dozen, scientists said. Human activity, including illegal fishing and pollution, is the main threat to these intelligent and cooperative dolphins, they added.
