Irrfan dropped 'Sahabzade' from his name as he was 'embarrassed' of royal lineage

Actor Irrfan Khan, who was born as Sahabzade Irfan Ali Khan in Jaipur, revealed on a show in 2017 that he dropped 'Sahabzade' from his name as he was "embarrassed" of the name since his childhood. "There are too many people of royal lineage there," he had joked. Irrfan's late mother Saeeda Begum belonged to the Nawab family of Tonk.
