IRS officer travels 600 km to help villages store rainwater in T'gana
IRS officer Sudhakar Naik travelled over 600 km from Mumbai to Telangana's Narayankhed to help drought-hit villages store rainwater. He travelled over seven weekends and built two community soak pits, farm ponds and stone bunds using local materials with the aid of environmentalist Paladugu Gnaneshwar and villagers. These structures allowed water to sink in ground and recharged water table.
