Is diabetic peripheral neuropathy linked to Vit. D deficiency?

A study published in the journal Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice investigated the association between Vitamin D deficiency and diabetic peripheral neuropathy in elderly T2DM patients. It suggested that Vitamin D deficiency independently increases the risk of diabetic peripheral neuropathy by impacting large nerve fiber lesions.
