Bees make honey as long-lasting food source to survive periods when flowers don't bloom. Contrary to popular belief, honey is not bee vomit. Foraged nectar is stored in dedicated 'honey stomach', which is completely separate from their digestive system. Bees pass nectar to one another, adding special enzymes before fanning their wings to evaporate excess water, creating thick, energy-rich honey.
