Is it legal to buy a domain name to profit from someone else's trademark?

The practice of buying or registering a domain name with the intention of profiting from a recognisable trademark, company name, or personal name is known as cybersquatting. This is illegal in the US but no specific law prohibits domain squatting in India. In the past, Indian courts have ruled in favour of trademark owners under Trade Marks Act of 1999.
