Islamabad shops required to close by 8 PM to conserve energy

From June 1, 2026, businesses in Islamabad are required to close by 8 PM as part of a government austerity programme aimed at addressing energy shortages linked to geopolitical tensions. While most establishments must adhere to this new timing, some venues like restaurants and grocery stores can remain open until 10 PM, with essential services exempted from these restrictions.
