Islamic State confirms Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's death, names new leader
The Islamic State has confirmed the death of its chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and named Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurashi as the new leader in an audio statement. ISIS confirmed that its spokesperson Abu al-Hassan al-Muhajir was also dead. Baghdadi blew himself up during a raid by the US forces in Syria's Idlib province last week.
