Israel bars top Catholic figure in Jerusalem from holding Palm Sunday mass

Israeli police stopped the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to celebrate Palm Sunday mass. This was the first time in centuries that the head of church was prevented from celebrating Palm Sunday Mass, the Patriarchate said in a statement. Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has condemned the Israeli police's move.
