Israel clears way to use Nile crocodiles to stop prison breaks
Israel reclassified Nile crocodiles from wild animals to "captive-bred wildlife", creating a legal framework that could allow security agencies to keep them to stop prison breaks. Israeli minister Ben Gvir, who had suggested using crocodiles around prisons in 2025, posted an AI-generated image with a crocodile after rule change. "Are you thinking of attempting to escape? Think again," Gvir wrote.
