Israeli computer scientist Avi Wigderson wins $1 mn Turing Award
Computer scientist Avi Wigderson has won the 2023 Turing Award, often called the 'Nobel Prize of Computing'. The $1-million award has been given to the Israel-born scientist for his contributions to theoretical computer science and groundbreaking insights on the role of randomness in computation. He is currently a mathematics professor at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton.
