ISRO issues statement as Mars orbiter loses contact, says 'it is non-recoverable'

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) confirmed it has lost contact with its Mars orbiter, calling the mission "a remarkable technological and scientific feat". "Despite being [built] for a life span of six months....the Mars Orbiter Mission has lived for about eight years," said ISRO. "It was declared that the spacecraft is non-recoverable and attained its end-of-life," it added.
