ISRO's NISAR sent warnings weeks before deadly flash floods in Nepal

NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) data captured significant ground movement on a Himalayan slope weeks before a deadly ice-rock avalanche triggered flash floods in Nepal. The avalanche struck on August 26 after the mass fell from around 5,200 metres at Langtang-Lirung peak. Notably, a preliminary report by Nepalese scientists ruled out a glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) as the cause.
